First day of preschool

Kira's first day of preschool - she is so excited!

Kaylee wants to go with big sis.

With Kira's teacher, Mrs. McDonald.

Kira had her first day of preschool on Aug. 26th. She goes Tues/Thurs mornings and she already LOVES it! She goes with her good friend, Eden. We've been telling both of them all summer how they get to go to school together. Well, the first week, they split the class in half and Kira went the first day and Eden went the Thursday with the second half of the class (they like smaller classes and teacher ratios the first week for kids to get used to it). That was really hard to explain to Kira (and to Eden I hear) why they couldn't go together. But, they were together yesterday and had a wonderful time. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the time she was gone and was looking foward to some one-on-one with Kaylee. But, the time really seems to go by fast because Kaylee and I barely seem to get anything done then it's time to get Kira. It's really going to be fun for her with all the cool activities and things they have to do at the school. It's a great place.

We had a really fun Labor Day weekend. Kyle actually only had to work a little bit on Saturday so we got some good time with him. What did we do with that time? We shopped for new couches and a BBQ grill. After looking at our OLD stuff that we've had for the last 10 years or so, we decided all the sales justified an upgrade. We got a new leather couch, loveseat and chair for the family room and Kyle got a grill. None of it is actually here yet (should be in the next couple weeks) but we are so excited! It was a nice weekend with the weather and we just really enjoyed spending family time together.

It's crazy to think that the fall/winter holidays are just around the corner. I was talking to Kira about the weather and how it's going to change and that Christmas is coming. I told her she needs to start thinking of what she might like to ask Santa for and that we'd write him a letter (we haven't done it before). She already told me she wants a real, live horse. Hmmm... how do we get out of this one? ;) I told her our yard isn't big enough for a horse. Hope that works, probably not.

I guess that's about all that's new with us lately. Just hanging in there and enjoying the change of seasons.
